Cotton, Charleston Farmer's Market, Marion Square, S.C. |
The best thing I did at the Farmer's Market yesterday was enjoy crepes for breakfast with St. Paul, Minnesota blogger Kate Mura and her husband Jim. Kate is a frequent commenter here and it was a real treat to meet them as they traveled up the coast.

My mother picked cotton as a kid. She hated it.
I can imagine. Hot, buggy. Pretty in a picture - just like snow.
Cotton intrigues me. Can you imagine how difficult it must have been to get all the little seeds out before Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin? it was an inveniton that started a revolution.
That guy's jacket....it will sure get your attention, won't it? :)
S
HOLY SMOKE... that fellow in the black jacket with the beard is GORGEOUS!
Aww Max was in my class at James Island High! That's so neat!
It did! And it worked - got our attention!
And now Max is the smokey olive oil guy. Who would have guessed, eh?
Ahem. I noticed. ;)
Joan, What a pleasure it was to meet you! You made us feel welcome and showed us a wonderful part of your city. Thanks also for suggesting that we go to the concert at St. Matthews, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. You're the best!!
We have learned first-hand the true meaning of Southern hospitality! We both want to return to learn more about your beautiful city.
Looks like it was a great day.
