Happy Birthday America!

Charleston, S.C.

Charleston is dressed in it's patriotic finest this morning and I let my camera hop from flag to flag for you on my walk. I get a bit sentimental about July 4th since this country laid out the welcome mat for me, gave me citizenship, rewarding work, warm friends and a place to call home. Happy birthday America!

And we're SO glad you're here. :)

What's S.N.O.B.?

Lowandslow - Thanks! SNOB stands for Slightly North Of Broad. A Charlestonian who lives South of Broad is an SOB. This restaurant is slightly North of Broad St. It is a wonderful restaurant.

Is there any other holiday that brings out so many diverse folks in such a public and joyful way?

Kate - you are right! All day I kept thinking that I need to buy some bunting and flags. It all looked so festive.
