SCRUBS Camp Class of 2010
SCRUBS Camp, Class of 2010, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, S.C.
I invited folks to send me their blood thirsty children and they did!
I am playing den mother to twenty two teens who think they might be interested in a health career in the hospital this week. Wow. This is a great gang. So far we've done CPR, First Aid, Physical Therapy, Imaging, Respiratory Therapy. I finished today by packing them off on a hospital scavenger hunt.
Tomorrow we head to Trident Tech for a tour of all their health labs and get to play with their zillion dollar human simulator mannequin. Fun. Wish me luck! This is all part of my master plan to make sure I have good health care providers to take care of me when I am old.

Great to see so many interested young people.
Gogouci - Isn't it? These kids all wrote very impressive acceptance essays.
Hi Joan,
Thought I would check in even though my computer is not up to par and my website is a mess. It probably could use a Dr, Sock Monkey lol Gosh that one monkey looks really huge! Is he really that big standing out on the grass? lol My Mom used to make sock monkey's all the time, male and female and even little babies. I thought they were kind of weird back then when they were so infamous, but now I really wish I had some. I'm going to call her and have her make me some and send to me.
I love the blue stable, I will have to check that one out for sure. It's a work of art. You find the neatest things. I'm like you with walking, I just love to walk.
That is so wonderful that Gina made a painting for you. I went to her site some time ago and she emailed me and asked permission to paint a couple of my pictures and wanted me to meet her during Spoletto too, but unfortunately it was Memorial Day week-end and we had to go to out of town to the in-laws, so I really missed out and I still feel bad about it.
Love the house on Smith Street with the raised flower beds. Someone after my own heart. I will have to take a walk by when I'm back downtown. I'll have to figure out where Smith Street is.
The photo's of the teens are great! Our future Doctor's and Nurses hopefully. It looks like they are learning a lot.
Stay cool

The kid you have your right hand on in the top picture looks like Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter movies!
Cool gig, it's great to see kids wanting to do something like this instead of playing video games.
I think this is the coolest program! Who knows, maybe you're training the person that will take my OR job one day! I have a friend whose son attended this program a few years ago, and she still raves about it--good job!!!
Marcheline - you are right! It is the kid on the very far right who was excused early to go to the Harry Potter theme park though. She was too excited!
Ma' - I remember you said that. I love hearing that. I agree...I feel I am training the folks who will take care of me. They loved the OR. The nurses out did themselves this time.
Sandy - Thank you for the lovely comment!
I’ve learned a lot from your blog here, Keep on going, my friend, I will keep an eye on it.
