Car Free King Street

King St., Charleston, S.C.

Outside dining, sidewalk chalk art, street music and artists, fancy hats, what more could you ask for?

Today was the first (of many I hope!) car free King St. days. Traffic was blocked between Calhoun and Queen St. so folks could amble down the middle of the road. Tom Bradford from Charleston Moves led a group of bicyclists in from Folly Beach, Anna Lassiter posed in front of her boutique Eden Boheme with an elaborate bonnet and the Sisters from the Pauline book store nibbled on their own baked goods.

It was a grand success in my opinion. Many thanks to the organizers!

Susan, Aren't they fun! The boutique owner used to go to school with my daughter so it was fun to see her so successful.

Most excellent hattage. What's with the chicks in bridal gowns?

Whew....the brides looked hot in those dresses in the sun. They were promoting a bridal fashion story.
