One of the best parts about Saturday's boating excursion was looking back at Georgetown as we sailed down the river. I love shrimp boats and the view was beautiful.

Tomorrow is Social Media Day in Charleston and the topic is actually interesting: Social Media During a Crisis. The event is held at the Charleston Museum on Thursday afternoon. There are some social media award and apparently someone has nominated ME.

Sunset on Shem Creek

It was such a beautiful day I wanted to extend it by enjoying a sunset over the water and with as much waterfront as we have in the lowcountry there aren't too many restaurants that offer that. My friend Mike zipped us over the bridge in his Miata convertable which has to be the most fun way to cross the river. I stuck my camera out to get a shot.

I intended to eat at Vickery's Bar & Grill on Shem Creek (Caesar Salmon Salad....mmmmmm), which is the best place to watch the sunset over the marsh but apparently we weren't the only ones who know that. Since there was a long wait we grabbed a table inside at the bar and missed the direct view but the food was delicious and the company most enjoyable.

Historic Georgetown by the sea. How can you not take a picture of shrimp boats? They are so picturesque. It has been sad to see them gradually dwindle in numbers.

Do y'all follow my fellow blogger's US 17 Coastal Highway blog?  If you drive up and down the coast you should check it out. She finds and features the unusual and quaint roadside spots along the old highway and makes you want to hit the road. There is even a Highway Music label so you can line up your road trip play list and she takes submissions if you find something worth sharing.

Georgetown was featured recently and left me meaning to try to catch the Maritime Museum but just got to peak in the window. It's always nice to sit outside at one of the boardwalk restaurants and nibble on crab cakes while you watch the boats go by.
