For a biscuit?

Callie's Hot Little Biscuits, 476 King St., Charleston, SC
This crowd was lined up for biscuits?! What? Who has tried Callie's Hot Little Biscuits? I have not and I wasn't considering standing in a long line like this on a hot day, but it didn't stop these folks. I passed the tiny shop a couple of times and watched the line get longer and longer. These must be some tasty biscuits.
Charleston City Paper: Biscuit maven Carrie Morey (of Callie’s Charleston Biscuits) shared with City Paper today her plans to open a new a counter-service restaurant, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit at 476 ½ King (currently Parlor Hair). According to a press release, Morrie says, “Since the beginning of this business, fans of Callie’s Biscuits have urged us to open up a little shop — ‘a hot little biscuit shop’ they would say. 476 ½ King Street has just the right character, and we’re thrilled to squeeze into all 629 square feet of it and make it a destination, albeit tiny, for biscuit lovers near and far.”

I'd stand in line in the heat for a beer. That's about it.

A few thoughts. If they really only sell biscuits, then the line must go fairly fast, so it wouldn't be too bad. There's a breakfast/lunch place here on Long Island called Maureen's Kitchen. Everything including the building is painted like a black and white cow. Doesn't matter what day you go, there's a line like the one in your picture. Longer, even. They really do make amazing breakfasts, though. Amazing concoctions involving waffles and fruits and crepes and eggs and cheeses and ... well, the thought of having to wait in that line keeps me from going there too often and overindulging.

Must be a thing now. We have a restaurant with only 6 inside seats that sells nothing but sweet potato biscuits, and assorted fillings. They converted a tiny walk-up convenience store into to their restaurant in a very transitional part of town. There is always a line.
