The holidays are supposed to be happy and joyful, right? Yet, so many people I love are suffering or have lost loved ones recently. Times are tough for a lot of folks. Illness, death. A friend buried her husband yesterday, I just got back from saying farewell to one of our own nurses and another friend buries his mother tomorrow. Along with many others, my own dear sister Shirley is suffering the awful effects of chemotherapy. Life is short and precious. Be kind to each other folks and let's lend a hand where we can.

I'm sorry about your sister.
Funerals at this time of year especially will forever taint the holidays, but perhaps grief does that despite the time of year. I know Christmas will never be the same for me again after the passing of my mother. She loved the holiday.
You are on a run of misfortune. Sorry to learn about it. Keep your chin up, Joan.
"Be kind to each other folks and let's lend a hand where we can. " Words to live by year 'round. Merry Christmas, Joan.
Sending loads of love and peace and strengthening thoughts your way, JP.
Thanks William and thanks for all your kind comments this year. Merry Christmas!
I can't complain myself, just hard watching so many people I care about having tough times. Thanks Jack. Merry Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, lowandslow!
Thanks Marcheline! Merry Christmas to you and Bear!
Life can be very tough, and hard to understand. Christmas reminds us though of the hope we have for a day when we will see all our loved ones again and there will be no more sorrow and pain. God bless you and yours this Christmas Joan. Thanks for all you do for the hurting.
Our neighbor just lost his mother...it's especially tough when it happens so close to what is supposed to be such a happy holiday.
Best wishes and good thoughts and prayers for your sister!
