History of Bottle Trees. This particular bottle tree is in front of the Avery Research Center on Bull St.
The mission of the Avery Research Center for African American History
and Culture is to collect, preserve, and promote the unique history and
culture of the African diaspora, with emphasis on Charleston and the
South Carolina Lowcountry. Avery’s archival collections, museum
exhibitions, and public programming reflect these diverse populations as
well as the wider African Diaspora. The Avery Research Center

These look so cool - we have at least one here in Lakeland. I wonder if you'd have to take all the bottles off before a hurricane or a bad windstorm.

That is one reason that I have not have one. I'd hate to have to take them all down for a storm.
Thank you! That one is the Mystery Tree! It often has many things on it besides bottles. I have featured it before and always have my eye out for it if I am in that area.
