I, too, was struck by the coordinated toenail polish and the kayak. Thanks for the link; I'm tempted to go out and buy one myself. Our canoe has been in our backyard for years because it's too heavy for our use anymore, but this kayak at 41 pounds looks pretty good!!
My hubby and I went kayaking with a friend a few years ago, and it was like purely silent hiking... we glided down this river, saw all the birds and fish and deer because there was no noise to scare them away. EXCELLENT! Stop when you want, start when you want, easy to maneuver, get out and carry to another part of the river if needed... it's a blast. Enjoy your new tupperware! 8-)
Marcheline - that was always the problem with motor boats in my opinion. They get you out in nature but by the time you go there you had scared everything away. One of the annoying things about being single was not being able to manage handling the heavy canoe. I am very happy!
This is a great way to spend a few hours on the water. We use kayaks at our winter home in Florida. In New England, we had two plastic kayaks like these when the kids were younger, but we gave them away when the kids were no longer interested. Should have kept them!
Another one who noted the toenail-polish-kayak-color coordination!
Kayaking does look tempting, and I've thought about trying it a few times. However, I've always wondered if I would dare to bring my camera along. What are the chances of it getting wet?
Jack - Suddenly everyone seems to be kayaking. Of course as soon as you are interested in something you see them everywhere. Seemed like every other car I pass has a Kayak on it today.
Pixel - My worry exactly. I took my little pocket camera in a zip lock bag. I was pretty splashy. I think it is a worry and too bad since I kept seeing cool shots. We shall see.
This has been the summer of kayaks for me as well. My son and I each got one for Christmas and I have been enjoying mine tremenously, he not as much. Mainly I have been exploring all the waterways around my neighborhood, seeing things from a perspective only the water can provide. I am also pleased that I am still capable of schlepping it on and off the car without help.

That looks like SO much fun. Conicidentally, K and I have plans to rent kayaks next Saturday and give 'em a try. :)

I used to canoe years ago but I am new to kayaking. I think I am going to like it!
Oh - and they are lighter and so much easier to manage than the heavy canoe AND they all seem to be on sale right now.
And how groovy that your toenails match!
Susan - Coincidence! I almost bought the blue kayak.

I color that top shot "glorious". Have fun!
Kate - Exactly! There are a lot of choices and they are all lighter now.

This is the life of leisure, well deserved and portrayed.
