Pied Pieper of Joyful Music

Charleston, S.C.

Check out the energy and joy in these kids faces. The students from the West Ashley High School Special Education Choir entertained us at lunch yesterday. I don't even know the teacher's name but he was amazing, giving each student a chance to shine - sing or dance and then led them on a merry parade. It was such a happy event.

Very impressive. Wish we had more of those kinds of teachers!

Every special ed teacher I have known has been incredible. They bring students to me at the hospital for job training. I've always been amazed.

The sheer and unutterable joy communiates explosively. The teacher has a true gift and really engages and draws forth the best ( but isn't that what the word educate really means?? Thank you so much for sharing this

It takes a truly special person to be an excellent special ed teacher. This man loves life and obviously transmits it to the students. Kudos for him!!

The teacher is Eddie Shealy, the West Ashley High School band director...and yes he is a very special man with alot of talent...he was a mentor to my daughter Christina for many years through high school and college and is now one of her peers as she is now a middle school band director.
