Before & After - Rutledge Ave.

Rutledge & Vanderhorst St., Charleston, S.C.

I walk enough to keep up with the changes in the neighborhood and it's my job to pass it along to you. This is the new Ashley Hall School building at the corner of Rutledge & Vanderhorst St.

Speaking of progress, I am slipping. Wired Mazagine published their list of The 10 Most Significant Gadgets of 2010 and I don't own a single one of them. Am I alone?

They are:

1. Apple iPad
2. Berkeley Bionics eLEGS
3. Microsoft Kinect
4. Windows Phone 7 on Samsung Focus
5. Sprint Evo 4G
6. Apple iPhone 4
7. MacBook Air
8. Samsung Galaxy Tab
9. Canon S95
10. Kindle 3

Technically I'm 1 for 10. My gadget-freak wife got tired of her iPad and gave it to me. I think my Neanderthal reputation is still intact.

I have a nook instead of a kindle, does that count? Otherwise I don't have any of these fun gadgets.

I was perfectly fine until I read the list. Now I want the little Cannon. I need a quick and easy pocket camera.

I think I've reached a milestone: I don't own a single one of these gadgets, and I don't care. Apathy is so liberating.

I'm 0 for 10 myself but the Canon S95 is tempting.

I wonder who dreams up these lists...I, also, own none of them...

john prince - It is Wired Magazine so it may be best sellers. Those iPads are getting more and more interesting.

Beach - it would be handy to have a small camera. My old powershot is fried. This one is pretty pricey though.

maggsworld - me too! :))

DWright - I am glad my nephews turned me on to Facebook though. That has been fun! (and free ;)

the ipads are more interesting; Loosing or breaking one is not more interesting....

Marty - Now I really want one. Drat. Not in the current budget but it will go on the list. Lists are free.

I don't own a one of them either and there are only a couple on the list that I am sure what they are...and like Marty, not in my budget.

0 for 10--I don't even know what some of those things are!
