Suga Shack, Charleston, S.C.
Where was the Board of Architectural Review when we lost the Suga Shack? I thought the goal was to keep things of value. Suga Shack! Suga Shack! We want the Suga Shack back!
I have no idea what the Suga Shack was. Just liked the sound of it. Suga Shack!

ahhhh - i remeber this building well. i lived directly across the street above the NAACP. i believe it was a barber shop when i first moved in, then it became a clothing store or something similar :)
Whatever it was, it sure looked a far sight better than the after photo!
Love the leaning house behind it, BTW...
Eww. Teal. Gag! What were they thinking? I so liked it much better when it was yellow.
carolinamomma - I walked that stretch yesterday. Lots of changes going on.
Pat - I agree. That silly Suga Shack sign made me happy.
Nikki - Ha! the three of us should get to vote :))
Maybe a candy store, the kind that sold penny candies when I was growing up? I love that, and I am also sorry it is no more!
oh my goodness - i'm going to drive by soon :)I just noticed the house to the right - it looks like it's been renovated!! Yay Spring St.
