Romantic Carriage Ride

State St., Charleston, SC
I often try to include people walking, riding bikes and carriage rides to add some action to my photos. In this case I thought it was a lovely romantic carriage ride until I spotted the two giant cameras aiming at the couple.

I've been told they were filming for an Expedition Unknown episode about buried treasure.

State St. sweet spot

27 State St., Charleston, SC
Uhoh. I've been letting the blog slip. Sorry folks. It's been a busy stretch. I've helped open a new hospital, participated in a Lip Sync Battle fundraiser (yep. me on stage. scary), and been to Columbia for the Governor's Volunteer Awards. It's all good stuff but hopefully things will settle down a little.

It is still endlessly hot and dry in Charleston with most days in the 90s. I am so ready for a little cool air.

This is one of my favorite sweet spots and I always seem to stop to admire it and grab a shot.

Hope you are all doing well.

Mini lending library on State St.

Mini library, State St., Charleston, SC
Cute little pink mini library on State St. I love this idea and hope it works as well as I imagine. I never use them myself since I have completely switched to downloaded kindle reading. I never would have guessed how much I love it. I don't buy books anymore at all which is fortunate since I've downsized to a small home with little storage.

Short walk again this evening due to the heat. I waited so late it was dark when I came back in. Stay cool, kids!

Window boxes on State St.

State St., Charleston, S.C.
Let's hear it for three day weekends! Hurrah!

I found a reddit.com question asking "What is the most beautiful piece of music?" and have been reading the suggestions, clicking on the recording and enjoying music I have never heard before. What a treat! I want to listen to them all and download a bunch. That could keep me occupied for awhile since there are over 7,000 comments.

I admit to being a reddit lurker. The only time I participated was when a young pregnant gal described what sounded like a seizure and was wondering what everyone on the internet thought she should do about it. I checked back every five minutes until she reported back to let me know that she was in the Emergency Room. Whew.

Have a good weekend, kids!

State Street greenery

State St., Charleston, S.C.
This is one of the prettiest stretches of street in Charleston and I can't resist grabbing a shot when I go by.

I took this on Saturday which was lucky since it is pouring rain at the moment and the weather might mess with my evening walk.  This was national Walk at Lunch day so I did squeeze in a brisk march around the hospital campus at lunch which equals about a mile. This staying fit business is time consuming isn't it?  I've tried to get back in the routine of going to a zumba class but missed last night because I had forty kids learning about Obstetrical careers at Mount Pleasant Hospital.

At least it is staying light later so it is more tempting to get back outside after my initial post work crash and burn. Stay healthy my friends.

Bad Book Titles

State St., Charleston, S.C.

There are more than a couple of places in Charleston that I am tempted to take a new picture of every time I pass. This corner on State St. is one of them.

In other non related news, these "Bad Book Titles" from the Shoebox Blog cracked me up:

BAD BOOK TITLES
by Bill

* 50 Things Procrastinators Should Do RIGHT NOW!
* His Wife Did It: A Mystery Novel.
* Only Fools Read Books.
* Harry Potter and the Gullible Children Who Will Pay for Any Book That Says Harry Potter On It.
