Optimist's Club Honors Youth

Youth Appreciation Banquet

Each year the West Ashley Optimist's Club holds a recognition event for teenagers involved in volunteering. They invite us to nominate students who volunteer for non-profit organizations. The two on the right are mine, mine, mine. What a great group of kids. The event was held at Easterby's Family Grill and the students are allowed to bring their families.

Nicola and Megan both volunteer in the Ambulatory Surgery Units at Bon Secours St. Francis and Roper Hospital respectively and we are proud as punch of them. Congrats girls!

Thanks to the Optimist's Club for organizing the event. I am always enchanted by fact that these folks came together and formed an organization based on the fact that they are Optimists. How cool is that? If it didn't actually involve meetings I might join.

Five beautiful young women who are feted for their volunteer work is a delight to see. Your two look very special...good job, Joan!
