We are steeple people

Church steeple, Charleston, SC
Charleston is often called "The Holy City". With a height restriction for buildings on the historic peninsula the many church spires often mean that steeples are the most visible part of the Charleston landscape.

These ones stand out nicely. We never had the height restriction- and it's too late now when so many office buildings block out the Parliament Buildings.

Is that the prison on the left in the first picture?

We do on the historic peninsula. It is good and keeps things to scale I think.

No, I believe it is part of a parking garage. The building on the left was the old Citadel Military College and is now a hotel. Neat place to stay.
