Teeny, tiny houses of Charleston

King St., Charleston, S.C.

I walked to the tip of the peninsula Sunday morning to sniff the ocean air and on the way back noticed this. It has to be the teeniest, tiniest little house on King St.

I couldn't remember what had been in front of it until I googled to discover that the demolition had been documented by the Post & Courier. It is unusual to see such a compact building in the midst of all South of Broad mansions.

I don't think I had ever noticed it before when it had the other building in front of it. Love the flag for Memorial Day!

I'll bet there is a story about this little house. The bottom part looks old.

It may have been a servant's quarters.

The brick in the bottom section looks very old. It would be cool to learn more about this little building. Eric - I am thinking that would be a good guess - either kitchen house or slave quarters.
