My Perry Tradition

Perry Rd., S.C.

It's tradition. Ya gotta do it. Whenever there is sign with your name on it you have to climb through the bushes and pose by it. Don't you? Don't you?

Absolutely! I have several of me throughout the years and the street sign named after my family! (Yes, that long name fits on a sign!!)

The next time I go back to Kentucky I'll pose by the sign for Courtney Drive, a street that was named after my grandfather.

My brothers and sister live around Pickens and Easley in the upstate and if appearances are correct when many of the back country roads were finally paved and given names they named them after the family that lived on that road. As to the obvious question of what they named the road if two or more families lived on it I have no idea.

Pamela - Thank you! I wasn't really sure if anyone else did it!

Mike - Please do!

Beach Bum - It is true...there are lots of family names on country roads and some very funny ones. Someone was laughing while they named.

I'd do the same if I ever found a Steffe sign.

Susan - A sweatshirt! Perfect!

Gina - Thanks :)

Steffe - I see your problem. We might have to write your name in cement for you.

Somewhere in South Carolina I passed a sign for "Dirt Rd." It was.

South Carolina has the funniest street signs. We should start a blog for them.

Great idea for the street name blog! I've always had a fondness for Zig Zag Alley!

Since I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations has long since passed, while in high school, we tried to steal a street sign in Lenevar that had my last name. Didn't get it though.

Great self-portrait. I would agree, you must pose with the sign.
