This one is tucked away. It's my secret find in the parking lot behind the Broad St. First Federal.

Joan, I used to park in the First Federal lot - in front of the ship painting - cash a check then exit the bank out the front door and go to the Blind Tiger. Free downtown parking.
You have some very talented artists in Charleston. Much nicer than the graffiti "artists" around here. And I love those Black Cabs.
Chuck - Smart you! This is a pretty decorative piece for a parking lot wall. I think they have had it touched up recently.
Catalyst - True, eh! We have the graffiti problem as well though. I try not to glorify that.
I was noticing the definite trend of black cabs in conjunction with wall art... wonder if there's a connection?
What great street art...by the people, for the people. Better than the museum.
Marcheline - I have a whole black Cab file and realised that most of them were the best examples.

Wow, every time I find a hand painted mural in Tampa I feel like a teasure hunter finding a gold doubloon. But Charleston certainly has some of the very best and it makes me want to redouble my efforts so I can do a "Best of" some day. Great post Joan. Class 1 and Hand Wash are terrific!!!!

Sean - Not hard to find. Head down Folly Rd towards the beach. It is behind the mostly abandoned plaza on the right. Buffalo South is open and operating so google their address:

I haven't been out for some time so would like to know what condition they are in now. Be careful, there was broken glass etc. on the ground around the site. You have to drive behind the building.
Frank - You have found a lot of good ones. I am sure you could come up with a top ten. I am wondering what else I can do a top ten of - cemeteries, corner stores etc.
I use to live behind the building that is now Planet Follywood way back when the only places to eat at Folly were the Sanitary Restaurant and the doomed Atlantic House.

I am a big fan of your terrific cemetery shots. Charleston has so many and you capture them so well. Best Of The Graves? I still like the shot of the barbecue grill strategically placed.

Great Photo of Planet Follywood! I like your photos.... Just for your information....I'm the artist (James Christopher Hill) that created this mural for non-profit reasons. It is however, copyrighted and is registered with the Library of Congress. It was a marketing (calling card) and has drawn thousands of people to enjoy and take photos in front of. It took 4 months of my life to create as I could only paint at night as the paint would dry instantly in the sunlight. I met thousands of great friends while painting this and heard some great stories from people who actually met some of the legendary icons.
