“It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea..." Edgar Allan Poe
and i thought we got the worst floods here in asia... haha... be safe.... i think it's best to stay home...:)
Charleston is on a peninsula. If it rains at high tide we flood regularly.
I'm glad I'm not there this weekend because I'm sure my car would have flooded on Radcliffe Street.
Looks like a typical summer afternoon in Ft. Lauderdale. I don't miss it at all.
So that's why Tampa didn't flood. YOU got our downpour. Charleston probably has the same situation at times that we do...the 2-3 inch rain in an hour cannot drain because of high tide. When that happens here it backs up and produces scenes like you posted. What a pain!!!!!!!! You do have stylish hip boots I bet.
Some of our streets were a bit like that yesterday. It's been raining almost non-stop here!
Halcyon - We seem to get them every afternoon. I just got soaked again :)Frank - Same here. I don't have boots though. I wear walking sandals and wade through. I try not to think of what is in the water. Cringe. B Squared - I love it when I am snug inside. Caroline - You know exactly what I am talking about!
Oh, wow! That must happen a lot if you feel the need for a flood cam!
not exactly a floodcam, but here's the guys that are the worst offenders, particularly at high tide:http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104300648662766498580.00046693fa11ae28f1887&z=15
Nikki - It happens every time it rains at high tide. It can get pretty tiresome. Jess - Hey, thanks!
Leave me a comment. They make me strong.
