Charleston Single House - extreme style!

America St., Charleston, SC
I hope that FedEx delivery isn't too big. It might not fit in the house.

This tiny, Charleston single house was built in 1991 by David Hammons as part of a Spoleto site specific art project on the East side. The Charleston City Paper has more information on the project. Happily for me the house remains after all these years.

Have you been able to get inside?

That's even too minimalist for me. I wonder how they were able to get it past the city? My problem here in Dallas & suburbs is the minimum size they will let you build is larger than what I want.

Wow, is that small!

That IS teeny!

I have not! With a concession window it would be a cute little food stand.

This one is just an artsy statement not for living in. It was done as part of our Spoleto festival years ago.

Too small for practical purposes. The land will soon become quite valuable.

Thanks, Joan. I'll pass it up.
