I had a cow!

"West Of", Westie Award, Charleston, S.C.
I won a cow! Since I moved West Ashley I was eligible to win one of the annual "Westie" awards from "West Of" newspaper named for our local icon - the Coburg Cow statue. Nothing could have tickled me more. I think you can enlarge the image below to make it readable but I was primarily nominated for all the student mentoring programs I coordinate at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. Happy day!

Editor Lorne Chambers dropped off my cow on Friday afternoon and I've been grinning ever since. Thanks folks!

I commented in your udder entry about this on FB. I didn't know that the statue of the cow was an award but now I understand. Congratulations on your major award. i won't milk this any longer.

Dammit, Waldo. You beat me to it.

Joan, on a complete detour from this post, I have to tell you something funny that happened to me today. I was in a cemetery I'd never been in before, trying to find a certain gravestone to photograph for the Find-A-Grave website (I'm a volunteer photographer), and after stumbling around in the freezing wind for about fifteen minutes, I finally found it. I had just finished snapping the shot, and I looked at the next stone over and jumped out of my skin - it said "Joan Perry".

Wow! There aren't too many of us. I hope you got a picture?!

When I first joined facebook I "friended" all the other Joan Perrys. It was ridiculous. Joan Perry said to Joan Perry said to Joan Perry. I almost forgot which one was me. :))
