Gruesome puzzle

What is this carcass?
This evening we have a new game of  "can you identify this carcass?". It isn't really a game but I am puzzled. I was up around Lake Marion last night and found this on my bike ride this morning. I stood there scratching my head. There are no limbs or wings and it was the size of a small deer. What the heck is it?

I googled deer skeleton and it could be that. The head has an elongated jaw line. Your days are always interesting!

I posted the image on facebook and it started quite a discussion. It was determined to be a deer skeleton. I was looking at it backwards. What I thought was the head is the pelvis. The head is missing entirely. Another mystery solved!

I was going to say that, about the head/pelvis thing. The next guess (if it wasn't a deer) would be a large dog, like a Greyhound or something similarly thin. As deer is a prey animal, it makes more sense. Happy St. Patty's Day! (At least the grass around the bones is green, ha!)

Too funny. Here I thought I was taking a close up of the head and it was the pelvis. I hope I do better with human bodies than animals :)
