Unusual Sights

Pay Phone, Charleston, S.C.

Hey, not many of these around any more. I need to make an effort to include them in a shot when I can. This one is at the WL Stephens Aquatic Center on Playground Rd. Any guesses as to how much a local call costs these days? I didn't so I had to check.

Walking on through Byrnes Downs neighborhood I spotted another unusual sight. These folks must be getting ready to do some major yard work! What a cool old tractor.

I always have huge doubts if those pay phones still would work. Can't remember the last time I saw one.

As all the payphones in my vicinity have been removed, I do not know how much a local call costs any more. Guess: $.50?

Ring, ring. "Hello? You want Doctor Who?"

You got it. $.50. I see a lot of phone booths but very few have phones still attached and none have phone books.

There is one at Beachwalker Park on Kiawah, near the restrooms. I pointed it out to my son (he's 8) and asked him if he knew what it was. Nope. No clue. haha!

These things start disappearing and you don't notice until they are almost gone.
