I'd advise against it; I have a perfectly good camera lying at the bottom of the St. Croix river in Minnesota, the result of a tipped over canoe. Humans were in good condition despite the bad canoe protocol of a visitor from India who was not familiar with watercraft.
Take your pocket camera, don't risk the 'good' one. Aside from that, have a great time. Love your before and afters from yesterday.

I couldn't let myself risk my DSLR. It's just too precious. One of these days I will but today I took my pocket camera. Not that it didn't cost a bit too but not as much as the other. Nice day!
