Church Photo in Lieu of Attendance - St. Philip's Church

St. Philips, Charleston, S.C.

Yeah! Look what I got! I went garage roof top hopping in the drizzle with an umbrella that kept blowing inside out to see what I could see. I'm not the first to get this view of St. Philip's Church but it tickled me.

The spire is unique and different from many other churches.

john prince - thank you! We have so few tall buildings it is hard to find spot to get a view.

lowandslow - thank you!

Kate - isn't it beautiful?

I know what you mean: Norfolk is low and flat too, in building also, but is a great thing in the long run.

This is a great shot! Do you shoot film or digital? I did a shot just like this about 25 or so years ago, long before they extended the garage. If you shoot film, put your camera on a tripod and after dark, give it a 2 min exposure. The beauty of the church showing glow from the street lights and steeple lights will blow you away!! After shooting film for over 30 yrs I just started shooting digital so I am not sure if you can do a decent digital shot with a long exposure.

john prince - I've seen some good rooftop shots here but they may be taken from private roofs. I've got my radar on now :) I may be knocking on doors.

George - I do shoot digital now. I am such an impatient photographer it is perfect for me. I bet you have some great Charleston shots from through the years.
