Bursting into bloom at Magnolia Plantation Gardens
Magnolia Plantation Gardens, Charleston, S.C.
I walked in heaven this morning. The city is like a garden right now and the gardens are glorious. My annual pass expires on 4/3 so I was just in time to scamper through the blossoms without paying an entry fee.
The place was swarming with photographers tripping over each other trying to get the perfect shot. The crowd mainly consisted of photographers and little old ladies so I fit perfectly in both categories!

Hi Joan, I did the Anson St tour today, and unfortunately we couldn't take pictures. I need to get myself out to one of these plantations soon while the azaleas are still in tiptop shape.
Beautiful photos!!!
In my mind there is no garden better at this time of year.
Wow! Beautiful photos. Our Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum is underway, but IMHO it isn't at beautiful as your plantation photos. :)
S
Azaleas, wsiteria....ahhhhhhhh spring. Here I saw a perfect circle bursting into perfectly pale life with snowdrops ( although we get no snow) heralding the steps down into winter chill.)
Ah, Joan - you put yourself in the wrong category on both counts... I'm sure the other folks there had a hard time telling between you and the flowers!
We're months away from azalea blooms here, and won't see wisteria for another three or four months at least. Thanks for the preview and much-needed emotional boost!
So gorgeous Joan! You always post the most beautiful and interesting photos. I love your blog.
Jess - I can't believe they wouldn't let you take pictures on a garden tour! What a shame. That is too bad.
Low - Charleston is a garden right now.
maggsworld - Brrrr. Just looking at some of the winter pictures online makes me cold. Our unbearable heat will come soon enough. I am enjoying this perfect weather.
Marcheline - I am the perfect little old lady in training! I even like tea.
InsideOut - Thank you! Picture me blowing kisses!
You really need to come up our way and go through Brookgreen Gardens. It's only an hour or so away, and well worth the trip!
