A carpet of blossoms underfoot

Charleston, S.C.

The crepe myrtle blossoms are as beautiful underfoot as they are on the branch and I had to keep admiring the ground as I walked on this carpet of blossoms on Saturday morning. People must think I am a batty old woman taking pictures of my feet. Fun!

Nice composition and interesting textures with the moss, ferns, and of course the purple flowers. I like it too.

Several years ago when the current camera I use was new and slightly "high tech", at least for me, I went outside early one morning to try and take pictures of the moon.

At the same time a good number of people in the subdivision were leaving for work and seeing me out in the front yard taking those pictures. For several months afterward when I accidently happen to be around the neighbors I just about always got questions from them asking what I was doing that day.

I don't which was worse, that I couldn't adjust my camera that day enough to get a good picture or that those people looked at me strange that I would try such a thing.
