Doors of Charleston - Jasmine

I was in the right place at the right time this morning. I was heading down to the College of Charleston for a reception for the REACH program this morning when I came across this door on Montague St. with the jasmine in full blossom.

There was a car parked right in front so I had to squirm around it to get the shot without the vehicle showing. I was almost tipsy with the scent of jasmine in the air. It is a beautiful time of year in Charleston.

I walk the same streets over and over accustomed to peeking over fences and between gates and then once and awhile the gates are flung open like an invitation. How sweet is this?  It would be funny to live in that tiny Gothic outbuilding and have the grand entrance and garden.

My work days have been so busy lately a peaceful weekend has been welcome. I went to see the movie Chef yesterday and enjoyed it very much. Don't go on an empty stomach!

Ghost Bike

I stayed away from the "ghost bike" memorial yesterday thinking it should be left to the friends who were fortunate enough to know Edwin Gardner personally but I walked down today. The painted white bike is traditionally placed in location of the accident as a memorial. Flowers have been left and people have signed the actual bike. It is a sad sight.
