Confederate Jasmination!

Confederate Jasmine, East Bay St., Charleston, SC   

I had to do an errand in town this morning that led me to do my walk on the East Bay, Wentworth, Society St. route and the beautiful gardens made me want to come home and shape up my own little yard. The confederate jasmine is in full bloom.

I have nothing to compare to this glory but I did plant my caladiums this afternoon. I'll check to see if they have bloomed first thing in the morning. I am an impatient gardener.

I was in the right place at the right time this morning. I was heading down to the College of Charleston for a reception for the REACH program this morning when I came across this door on Montague St. with the jasmine in full blossom.

There was a car parked right in front so I had to squirm around it to get the shot without the vehicle showing. I was almost tipsy with the scent of jasmine in the air. It is a beautiful time of year in Charleston.

Every single little white Confederate Jasmine blossom in the lowcountry burst into bloom last night.

Jasmine is draped over wrought iron fences, hanging over garden gates, wrapped around stairwells, planted to climb up palmetto trees and draped over my garage. I walked the Montagu, Bull, Queen St. stretch this evening and I came home quite drunk on the smell of jasmine.
