Take your butts with you

Charleston, SC

I have an album full of the quirky signs I find on my walks and it is the spontaneous handwritten ones that tend to catch my eye. When I saw the Presurfer's entry on Kick the Habit socks it made me go look for this photo. Note the double "thank you" on the sign. We are the best mannered city.

No additives or chemicals in these cigarettes, but they’re still pretty addictive. Maybe you should get two pairs. Or a whole pack’s worth!

Get outside today, kids! It is a beautiful day.

  1. I must say, as a smoker, people who ditch their cigarettes in grates like that are awful. Come on, y'all. Downtown is full of trash cans. Just stub out the butt and carry it to the next can you find. Easy and you don't have to carry the stigma of being a litterbug!

Also, HA! We really are the best-mannered city. :)

  2. I always hated the mess of cigarette butts. Glad I quit (most days!)

  4. It was a beautiful day, and I spent a couple of hours riding aroung the city on my bike. Didn't get many pics, though.

I haven't had to toss a butt down a grate in fifteen days now.
    ;-)

Sorry, I had to get rid of a really awful mistype :-)

  6. One of the worst duties you can be given in the army is to pick up cigarette butts. I hated having to touch the things.

Quick note, my cousin and his wife had their baby Thursday night at St. Francis. Wanted to zip down there but my son had an appointment Friday, plus I was fighting off a cold and didn't want to get anywhere near a baby.

  7. Beach Bum - Hope you are feeling better. That would have been grand if you had dropped by my office! Hope all went well.

Doug - 15 days. You are over the worst. Good luck!

becomingkate - Right. It ain't easy.

PersicaPit: I love the story about the guy who punched the visitor who didn't say Good Morning to him on the sidewalk. He hit him and said, "In Charleston we say Good Morning". We are the best mannered city!
