Blossom time at Middleton Place

Middleton Place, Charleston, SC

I keep an annual pass to Magnolia Gardens but at this time of year it is worth sneaking in Middleton Place as well and I walked through the garden on Sunday morning. The azaleas are bordering on gaudy right now. It is glorious.

Work has been such a roller coaster ride lately I needed to look at some pretty scenery. I could have stayed until 10 p.m. this evening and not caught up and that ain't healthy.

  1. Middleton Place is one of my favorite places in the Lowcountry. There's something magical about standing in one place and knowing that these flowers have bloomed in this same place for over a hundred years -- almost like you can see the past unfolding right before your eyes, like you're standing amongst history.
