Merry Christmas!

I admit I didn't take this picture. I was sleeping tucked away in a cabin on Lake Marion at midnight and my friend Leah Sparks stayed up late and did the honors.

Our hospital has a lovely nativity scene but the manger lays empty until Christmas eve. Baby Jesus waits in the nursery with the rest of the Christmas babies until midnight when the nursing staff escorts Him outside and lays Him in the manger. It is a sweet tradition.

Protecting the Manger Scene

Oh, I couldn't resist! I haven't really taken the "war on Christmas" crowd seriously and I am sure that isn't what this is about but the the mixed message stopped me in my tracks. They haven't taken their manger scene down yet and it is well protected.

Yay, I found an intact starfish! Most of you find them on the beach but I take what I can get.

I also found a greeting for frequent commenter William Kendall from Ottawa Daily Photo. Put a sweater on before you visit his blog. Things look a little chilly up there. Thanks for all the comments William!

He is Born!

I know it for a fact because I drove out to the hospital to watch the nurses lift him from the warming isolette and carry him out to the manger.

Visitors have been reporting the missing baby Jesus for weeks at the hospital but this is our tradition. He waits in the Newborn Nursery until midnight on Christmas Eve and this evening Jessie gently did the honors.
