I took a detour to the Park Circle area of North Charleston the other day to track down mural artist David Boatwright's recent Rockabilla-Que mural and was not disappointed.

Mural - Pancito & Lefy, Charleston, SC 

 I keep my eye out for new murals around town and was pleased to spot this one. No wonder I liked it - it is another one by mural artist David Boatwright who has been such a creative and colorful gift to Charleston. The restaurant is Pancito & Lefty on upper King St. Worth a visit for the food as well as the ambiance!

East Bay Murals - David Boatwright

Muralist David Boatwright has left a splash of color on 341 East Bay St. on the Blue Key building. Check their web site to get a closer view of the art work. The panel on the left is the past and the right is the future. What a great gift David Boatwright has been to Charleston.

I had a tasty bite to eat this evening at Spero at 616 Meeting St. I tried the pulled lamb sandwich and may not need to eat for the rest of the week. It was very good.

I am always tickled to find new work by artist David Boatwright and this work inspired by a Renoir painting certainly brightens up Queen St. and the view for the brunch diners at Poogan's Porch restaurant. I've watching the work in progress but this was the first time I got to see the completed mural. Oddly I still haven't found my face yet but I am sure it is tucked away in there somewhere. Harhar.

New mural - GDC Home

GDC Home has a recent and colorful mural on the side of their West Ashley building and I finally pulled over to get a photo to share. Isn't this great? I believe it is another piece by talented David Boatwright. You can see the process here.

I am ready to settle in for a lazy end to my weekend watching the Oscars. I see Bill Murray is in attendance and I don't recall being invited to go with him. He does live in Charleston after all and it would have been so easy. Drat.

Eyeball to Candleball

I am occasionally tempted not to carry my camera on a walk but if I don't, I am always sorry. Who can anticipate running into an artist painting a skull on the side of a Taco Boy truck in the abandoned Bank of America building on King St.? What brilliant colors!

The artist, Michael said I had just missed mural artist David Boatwright who will be presenting at the Pecha Kucha session tomorrow evening. What a lucky catch for today's photo. Larger resolution view here.
