Charleston finally defrosts

Charleston, SC
We are melting, we are melting! I finally got to work and caught a little bit of snow left in the meditation garden. It has been hard not being in scenic areas to take pictures during this extraordinary snow event.

While I have you, here is a fun Charleston Ski Resort video that was quickly pulled together.

The kids get one last day out of school since many of the rural roads are still packed thick with ice but for the most part today was back to normal.

Snow day - Charleston

Snow Day Charleston, SC

This hasn't happened for years in Charleston!

Happy snow day Charleston!

Charleston, SC
We don't get much of this in Charleston!
As long as we don't have to drive in it, the pipes don't freeze and the power stays on it is a treat to see. Stay warm kids!

How we do snow in the lowcountry

Vanderhorst St., Charleston, S.C.
No, we don't have snow but rumors of it made me look back on the fun shots I took after a perfect snow in 2010.

It was a Friday evening so I didn't have to worry about driving which was fortunate since Charleston closes down when we spot a snowflake. We had a couple inches of light fluffy snow and it was magical! It was the first snow many lowcountry children had ever seen. There was a snowball fight in front of my house and everyone was outside laughing and playing. I took these the next day.

No explanation for this one! Charleston, S.C.
John C. Calhoun needed his coat that night!, Charleston, S.C.
Lowcountry snow is so precious we guard it!

Remembering the snow day

Waterfront Park, Charleston, S.C.

Remember that one perfect snow day? Aaaaaaah. Looking at those pictures and enjoying a dish of ice cream helps a little in this heat.

I'm with Stupid

Waterfront Park, Charleston, S.C.

Uhoh, Charleston boy Stephen Colbert is getting some attention at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The comments fall into two main categories:

Stephen is a comedian, if you don't think he is funny then you must be stupid.

If you think Stephen Colbert is funny, you must be stupid.

I'm with Stupid. I think Stephen is very funny.
