Our Sago palms survived the winter

Fresh growth on Sago palm, Charleston, SC
Our sago palms took a chilling hit during Charleston's freak winter snow storm. I took everyone's advice and tried to believe there was hope. Tada! These aren't mine but ones I spotted with fresh new fronds on my morning walk. Welcome back! Mine is going to survive as well.

In the belly of the tree

Sago Palm Tree, Charleston, SC
What the heck? I've taken pictures of the inside of a sago palm before but I've never seen it looking like this. Oddness abounds, my friends. In fact the one next to it looked nothing like this.

I am so enjoying the lighter evenings and being able to walk later. Thank you daylight savings time. This little mini library is close to my house and I see it as an optical illusion in this shot. It appears to be floating in mid-air. In truth it rests right on the ground under the oak tree. I'll have to look closer next time and see if they are children's books in easy reach.

Bed time, kids!

A roaming we will go

Posing on a sago palm, Charleston, SC
I spotted a tiny baby lizard clinging to my windshield wiper on my way home.
He slipped between the brackets and held on for dear life for the ride.
He ended up in my yard across town but safe and sound.

It's the weekend, kids! It is still miserably hot leaving me too sluggish to plan much.
I've been binge watching hours of Netflix with spurts of fast walking.

Business inside a Sago Palm

Sago Palm, Folly Beach, S.C.
I've had a Sago palm on my own property but I've never seen this kind of business inside of one before. There is all kinds of stuff going on in here. Yikes!
