Break dancers - Charleston Farmer's Market

Marion Square, Charleston, S.C.
These kids were great and clearly each one admired the other dancer's techniques. I can't find much about them which is a shame since they were raising money for a national free style dancing competition that folks might want to contribute towards. It looks like they may be the Missing Links.

  1. Wow - great shots! And what skill...I'd be breaking all sorts of bones if I attempted this.

    1. Me too! I loved the look on the other boys faces as they watched in admiration.

  2. I wonder how much time they spend on these routines and how they got interested in the "sport?" I guess I'll just have to find some of these kids and ask them.

    1. It looks like they have international competitions now. It is a mix of dancing and gymnastics.

  3. I slipped on a banana peel once, and for a split-second before I hit the ground I guess I was "break-dancing", too. It's a very high-impact sport....nothing I want to do regularly. ;)

  4. The dance troupe should be named FCPI... "Future Chiropractic Patients, Inc." - 8-)
