Window Box Love

Charleston Window Boxes, Charleston, S.C.

I wonder if there are gardners who just go around maintaining these wonderful window boxes. I walked the lower peninsula this morning and felt I was walking in a garden. The crepe myrtles and oleanders are in full blooms as well as these glorious flowers.

G'night kids. Time to see what the new week has in store for us!

  1. These flower boxes seem to be pieces of art themselves. Beautiful blossoms and lots of greenery. Also enjoy the scroll work.

  2. You do this all the time, Joan. Last night at work I was doing search after search for... you guessed it... flower boxes! I want to hang one on the railing of the deck/stairs behind the front house. My cottage windows look out at these stairs, and they'd be ever so much more attractive with something like you've got pictured here... gorgeous stuff!

  3. The growth is so lush you can't even tell it's planted in a window box.

  4. Joan, Was it you who posted a recipe for tomato pie awhile back? If so, I copied it and tried it tonight. Interesting that DH who normally doesn't look cooked tomatoes, gobbled up several slices and claimed he liked it. I loved it and can't wait to give part of it to our son Karl so considers himself a gourmet. Thanks to you or to the person who gave me the idea to try it.

    1. Kate - I did! Yes! Isn't it incredible. I made another one and I've eaten all but one piece. Thanks for letting me know!
