Church Photo in Lieu of Attendance
Charleston, S.C.
Not my usual Church Photo in Lieu of Attendance but when my brother painted my house, he put a layer of protective varnish on the porch church pew and took a meditative moment. Thanks Jim! It looks great.
"Church pews on front porches" is one of my all-time favorite Southern decor touches. It suits my heart, as I think nature is the best and truest church there is.
Your brother is a treasure!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fine looking pew. Good job, Jim!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he painted it all himself! What a guy! It looks great! Love your color choice, Joan.
ReplyDeleteKate - yes, he is!
ReplyDeletewildstorm - It looks so much better now.
Suzie - Amazing, isn't it? He is the most efficient painter. He did the whole house himself in this heat. I owe him big time!
Jim looks pretty great, too!

ReplyDeleteHe must be a rank amateur painter. I don't see him covered head-to-toe in paint, the mark of a true professional. :)
ReplyDeleteS
If you'd sat him down on that pew while it was still wet, you might have been able to keep him around for a while longer.
ReplyDeleteMarcheline - me too! I love 'em and wanted one for a long time.
ReplyDeletelowandslow - I am SUCH a messy painter. That is the only time I take tub baths to soak it all off.
Catalyst - good point!
Saint James did a heavenly job with the painting! He looks quite reverent on the bench or is that just an act?
ReplyDeleteThat is an act. I offered him a hymnal. :))
