Camellia season

Camellia, Charleston, SC   
Sometimes I like them even more in the colorful carpet on the ground than I do in perfect bloom on the branch. I found this under a bush at Middleton Gardens.

    I think I have as many photos of their fallen blossoms as I do those still on the shrub.

    I've come to the conclusion that camellias are the perfect flowers. Even when they are imperfect.
