Poor thing. He is in here somewhere but I don't know where. I tried to catch him in a dishtowel to help him escape but he didn't understand my intentions.

    1. That might be okay. He will starve to death in here anyway - I assume.

  2. We had a skink in the living room last week ....oh my God! It was legs up playing dead when Bobby went to pick it up but it sprang back to life! It was huge like a snake with legs! (Well seemingly huge and a bit wet looking like a snake)
Bobby must have dropped it 3 times, the poor thing left his tail behind inthe maylay but it did make it back outside!

    1. I have no idea where he is now. Hopefully he found a crack somewhere and escaped.

I don't especially care to be "anonymous" but I don't have any of those other choices.
    Call me Poinciana. :)
The lizard is probably catching ants or some small creatures that venture into your place. Having a lizard in the house is a benefit!
We have geckos here. And they're very welcome. Believe me, they wouldn't stay in the house if they couldn't find ants and other tiny insects for their food!
I love your blog and your photography!

    1. Thank you!
I grew up with that thought as well, lizards were not considered a bad thing in a home.

  5. Many of his relatives live on the lanai of my Florida home and occasionally venture into the house. I like them better outside.

  6. Aww, let him be. He'll eat the bugs.

  7. My mother JUST told me the same story (she lives in NC) ... only her "guest" is purple. And she has cats.

  8. Joan: He probably saw the dish towel, thought about the kitchen, and assumed that he was the appetizer. :)

    1. Maybe! I am just trying to help. Hate to think of the rascal starving in my house.

  9. Aaack! Last night I found him on my nightstand looking a little thinner. I again tried to catch him and he'd scamper behind the table. I finally went to bed hoping not to wake up with lizard parts in my sheets. Haven't seen him today.
