Elloree, S.C. |
Three day weekends are long enough for last minute day trips and we are blessed with camera candy destinations in reasonable range. I headed to
Elloree yesterday morning planning to wander through their antique shops. It was sad to see another one of them holding a closing sale but that didn't stop me from taking advantage of the deals and met a
fella who insisted on coming home with me. A detour took me to say hello to the
Tea Pot museum which makes me smile every time although I've never caught it open. I had a sandwich in the
Cleveland St. Cafe where peach ice cream was the special of the day.
Have a nice weekend, kids! We've had some dramatic rain around town but although I hear the rumbling it hasn't hit my part of town yet.
That Native American (ahem) will enjoy being in your home.
ReplyDeleteWait until he meets my mermaid. Heheh.
DeleteI like that purchase you've made!
ReplyDeleteI do too! It was an uncharacteristic quick purchase. He insisted on coming home with me.
DeleteElloree seems like one of those quintessential sleepy little towns in South Carolina...great to visit, but, if truth be told, probably difficult to live there and make a living. Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteA teapot museum that is never open... that sounds like a plot element from an Alexander McCall Smith book! Charmingly enticing, and maybe more enjoyable this way than if you ever got to go inside.
ReplyDeleteElloree, oh Elloree. That name nearly produces music from me. Nearly. But not quite.
