Marsh Art

Coco Vivo Art Gallery, Broad St., Charleston, S.C.

We can't help it. We are suckers for marsh art. I used to joke that I'd like to be a Marsh Artist as opposed to learning Martial Art. This painting caught my eye at the Coco Vivo Art Gallery on Broad St. Flipping through their web site it looks like the artist is Mitch Billis who appears to divide some of his time between the lowcountry and Tuscany. Not. Too. Bad. Here is his website.

While we are on the subject of art, go ahead and bookmark Barbara Stroud's blog. Barbara is my "lazy girl's art walk" as she introduces new artists each week and I can enjoy learning about them without the crowds of the evening art walks.

I just finished the last episode of True Detective so my regular life may now resume. It's been a week of gluttony TV watching.

  1. Pretty. I have a marsh painting from Connecticut that looks a lot like marsh paintings in the Carolinas.

  3. Beautiful art!

The shop reminds me of an artist's shop near where I grew up. I wonder if he's still alive.

  4. Heck, Joan - we just started watching "House" (as in doctor) from the very beginning - we're going under and not coming up for air for a long, long time! 8-) Lovely art, btw.

  5. Is True Detective on HBO or some such premium channel? I missed my marshes when I moved away for decades. Good to be back home.

    1. Chuck, it is an HBO series. I don't have HBO and it isn't on netflix so I was out of the loop.

I love marsh scenes. I was once down at the waterfront park and heard a tourist say, "this would be nice if they cleared all this messy grass out of here." Aaack!
