Rx Society Gala Festivities

Roper St. Francis Healthcare Xavier Society Gala, Charleston, S.C.

Last night was the annual donor appreciation gala for the health system I work at. Big shindig! The event was held at Charleston Place Hotel and retired football coach, active sportscaster and author Lou Holtz was the guest speaker. They hire photographers for this event which is good because I snuck in at the very last minute before dinner was served. The decorations were absolutely beautiful this year. It's always fun to see people you work with every day all sparkly and festively dressed.

    1. William, I have a new (recent) camera and I don't feel as confident with it. It's odd how you get so familiar with your camera you know exactly what to expect. This throws me off. I didn't take many but glad to get a few decent shots.

  3. It looks like it was an elegant shindig! Does Lou Holtz still live in Columbia? He was the next-door neighbor of one of my former supervisors.

You got a new camera? Which one? (I'm flirting with the thought of getting a new one....have been saving up my Christmas bonus, Christmas money, birthday money, plus eating a lot of lentil soup)

    1. I got a Canon 70D. It isn't second nature yet.

I am not sure where Lou Holtz lives. He was a good speaker although I'm not a big sporty gal.

  4. It looks like a very nice event, Joan. I have heard Lou Holtz speak. He is a very effective motivator. I wanted to run though a wall after listening to him.
