Shrimp & Grits Appetizer at Cypress, Charleston, S.C. |
Restaurant week is such a good deal and allows you to try restaurants that might normally strain your budget. We meant to just get a snack and drink at the bar but the restaurant week menu at
Cypress was so tempting we couldn't refuse. Yum. Shrimp & grits, pork belly. Oh my.
What a delicious-looking medley of food!
ReplyDeleteKate, It was a treat! We didn't have reservations but not everyone knows that Cypress has a bar upstairs where you can get the full menu.
DeleteDang. Wish we had people who knew their way around grits up here in NY. Best breakfast I ever had was in a truck stop in North Carolina. We were on a road trip, coming back from visiting my mom. Eggs, and grits, and bacon, and biscuits. Literally made me want to weep with joy.
ReplyDeleteI didn't used to be a fan but I love good shrimp and grits. I can make a pretty good batch myself!
DeleteMmmmm. Grits and ... well, anything! :D What a delicious looking array of food, Joan.
ReplyDeleteRestaurant week makes it possible to try places that are normally more expensive treats. It was yummy.
DeleteI'm not a big fan of grits, but I love shrimp and grits!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that yummy-looking dessert in the last picture? I have no idea what it is, yet it makes me drool.
I do too!
DeleteThe bottom one is a mini individual Key Lime Pie.
Even though grits and pork belly are not on this northerner's usual menu, it looks so good I would give it a try. So long as you promised to eat up any that I left behind.
ReplyDelete"Pork Belly" are drool words for me now :)
