Charleston Fashion Week, Marion Square, Charleston, S.C. |
I joked a couple of years ago that the one festival I wasn't involved with at all was Charleston Fashion Week and wondered if it was because I tend to wear Dansko shoes. Heheh. This year, thanks to Charleston Magazine and the American Heart Association I was offered tickets to last night's fashion show. Lordy, I could have used up a camera card just taking pictures of women's shoes. No sensible Danskos in sight. It was an experience. As I understand it, the entire event started as the brainchild of
Ayoka Lucas pictured above and has blossomed into a very successful event.
I wasn't seated in a place to get good pictures so just grabbed a couple to document the event. I have to admit that my favorite part of the night was the kid's fashions. They were so adorable.
I have never attended a fashion show, and I suspect that my streak will remain intact well into the future.
ReplyDeleteHa! This was probably a one time event for me but it was fun to catch a glimpse of how the other half lives.
DeleteWhat a great experience you had. Sorry about the fact that you didn't have a press pass to get closer to good lighting for more photos...nect year!
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting. There was a whole bank of photographers at the end and wandering around the park.
DeleteNever heard of Danskos - must look those up! Love the last two dresses, but I have to say that chick with the topknot in the first picture looks straight out of the 1980's. Is that look coming back?
ReplyDeleteDanskos are my go-to comfort show. They are more cloggy but most years have one that is slightly more of a mary-jane with straps and looks a little dressier.
DeleteI'm with you with the Dansko's... ha ha... Wonder how they walk in those tall spiky heels? That always amazes me!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I am all about comfy feet.
