What was Eye Level Art with the mural by Shepard Fairey is now Cannon Green. It isn't open until spring but already has a web site billing at as Charlestons' permier venue site:
Located in the Cannonborough neighborhood, Cannon Green
is Charleston's premier venue for celebrated occasions.
A sophisticated urban concept with the classic elegance of the

Interesting site. Love the mural.
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the original painting from the auto body shop that was in there. I'll have to back track and see if I still have it.
DeleteIt takes chutzpah to call yourself a city's premier location before you have even opened.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too. I guess the "location" has been there if the spot is all they are talking about. It's like a new restaurant having a world famous item on the menu.
DeleteIt's too bad they didn't splash out on an artist that could have made that large vine thingie look really amazing - they covered over art that was much more well executed, IMO. Like putting a line drawing over a Frank Frazetta.
ReplyDeleteThere actually was another mural painted on top of the Shepard Fairey one before Cannon Green came...
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I can post a link to the pic of it, but if you search google images 'eye level art charleston sc' it will show it. It is the one with the big blue gorilla on it.
Eye Level Art had a closing down bash and did that.
The new mural is certainly an improvement. Thanks for the follow up!
