Lake Marion, S.C. |
It may be a cheapo little girl bike but it gets me to some pretty locations. Look at that! I am a timid bicyclist and have no interest in riding in traffic so this is just the right speed for me. I putter along country lanes and the only people who pass me are trucks towing boats and golf carts. The truck drivers wave and move to the other lane and the golf cart drivers hold their little dogs in one arm and wiggle their cigarettes in the air in passing.
Lake Marion suits me fine but here is a link to: America's Best Lake Vacations. What a beautiful country this is. I've seen quite a few of them as well as some beautiful lakes around the world.
I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. I am catching up with all the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert recordings from convention week and getting a good laugh. My handyman is working on the last bedroom ceiling so I will soon be able to get my furniture back in place. Whew.
I love your bike, I would love to live somewhere where I could safely ride. Here in Memphis, it's dangerous enough to be in a car! I spent a lot of time in Charleston when we lived closer, visiting my sister, and I love reading your blog and seeing places I've been and places I want to go. I really enjoy your blog, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Charleston has too much traffic for me to ride a bike. That is why the country roads are perfect. Thanks for coming by!
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to have a bike path around the lake; looks like it would be a pleasant place to spend time. I checked your link and was pleasantly surprised to know that I am intimately familiar with 3 of them: Lakes Superior, Michigan, and Winnebago. Lucky, huh!?
ReplyDeleteKate - it isn't a bike path but sleepy country roads so it works fine. You probably know exactly the lakes that I don't!
DeleteI LOVE you bicycle!
ReplyDeleteMake that "your".

Thanks Bruce! It even has a little plastic basket :)
DeleteCool bike! I was at REI today and looked at their selection of bikes, but then I looked at the seats, then I looked at my butt in the mirror, and then I went and looked at kayaks (again). ;)

Now I have both and I like it. Of course I did like you, I looked for kayaks at the end of last season when they were on sale.
DeleteI love your bike, too! It looks like the birds in the water are waving at you and your bike.
ReplyDeleteYes! I caught a good moment.
DeleteI have a bike very similar, comfy! I am looking forward to when the West Ashley Greenway will be completed... the short stretch that has been completed now is a treat to ride on, then a zip through Byrnes Downs and back on the trail! No cars which is nice! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI agree. There has been a lot of controversy about it but I think it is a good idea.
DeleteGreat shot, I'm sure that bike will take you on many adventures!
