Lake time

Lake Marion, S.C.
Apparently what I like do to for relaxation is go to my lake, grab a Corona beer, eat macaroni and cheese with chopped up Johns Island tomatoes, read a book and paint my toe nails. Not bad for a Friday night. I took my new bike so I could go for a spin this morning.

The plastic soldier was in my backpack so I let him free to ride around.

  1. You could skip the nail polish part.

    1. I read "Return to Sullivan's Island" by Dorothea Benton Frank. I am a sucker for books written about the lowcountry.

    1. It is pretty nice. I haven't broken out the kayaks yet but it was a good day for it. Soon.

  4. Great shots. You could send the corona shot for a print ad. Have a good ride.

  5. LOL at your plastic soldier. One of my coworkers (a geologist) has a sock monkey that he likes to pose in his pictures. Sock money in a mine, sock monkey on a drill rig... LOL.

Lake, bike, beer, book - great combo, sounds relaxing!

  6. Lake Marion sort of freaks me out (and any lakes of the same origin.) I just can't feel completely comfortable with a body of water covering what used to be living, breathing spaces, and also...likely graves. Yeah, I know, they moved them....someone(s) are always missed. Anyway, great pics.

  7. Actually there is an island in the lake that has a cemetery on it. I think they take people out on a boat to visit once a year. I'd like to go.

  8. You need to get that kayak out, maybe even strap soldier boy to the bow. It could be a pleasant change for him.

    1. I do paint my toes since they last so long. Manicure fingernails wouldn't last a day for me.

It is always fascinating to think of buried towns and homes left to the water.

  10. My toenails grow about half as fast as my other nails. I don't know that they last very long because I clip them.

And, yes, I DO like beer.
