The Hump Bar, Meeting St. Road, Charleston, S.C. |
Get over it, because it isn't a real bar. It is a set for the series Army Wives. In between seasons the windows get boarded over and it looks abandoned but right now flowers are blooming and it would be easy to imagine cars pulling up expecting it to be open rather than the facade that it is. Interior shots are filmed somewhere else entirely. No drinks for you :(. Sorry.
I'll have to keep an eye out for this set the next time I flick over Army Wives, funny to think it's just a facade.
ReplyDeleteThey showed it last night! That is cool that you are watching it in Perth. I enjoy seeing local scenes in the series.
DeleteTheir loss. I'm a big tipper. :)

Their loss indeed!
DeleteAh, Joan, I got all excited and was going to google it and rush down with my sweetie. Looks like a nice place and I am sure those 'wives' enjoy their time there! I have only seen a few episodes of the show because I spend too much time at the computer!!
ReplyDeleteThat would have been fun! It really is a facade. I looked in the window and there is just a foot or two between the front and the back. Too bad. Someone could make a popular bar out of it.
DeleteHa, I drove by it the other day and thought to myself, what a cute little place! What an idiot I would have looked had I tried to talk someone into going with me!
ReplyDeleteHahah! It looks so pretty right now with all the greenery. Let's go drink a beer on the porch :)
DeleteSomeone needs to turn that into a real bar once the series is over!
ReplyDeleteThey do. When you look in the window it only looks a foot or two deep. It would have to be built in from the back. Do it!
DeleteHey! What is the street address...my sisters are coming from MI for the weekend and one of them would like to see it anyway....Thanks! maynger7@gmail.com I love your pictures and commentary!
DeleteSorry May. Missed your comment. Hope you found it. It is on upper Meeting St.
DeleteI saw The Hump as we drove by on a recent trip to Charleston. I didn't realize it was only a few feet in depth! Still it was interesting to see.
