The Hump Bar - Get Over It

The Hump Bar, Meeting St. Road, Charleston, S.C.
Shall we meet for a drink at The Hump Bar?

Get over it, because it isn't a real bar. It is a set for the series Army Wives. In between seasons the windows get boarded over and it looks abandoned but right now flowers are blooming and it would be easy to imagine cars pulling up expecting it to be open rather than the facade that it is. Interior shots are filmed somewhere else entirely. No drinks for you :(. Sorry.

  1. I'll have to keep an eye out for this set the next time I flick over Army Wives, funny to think it's just a facade.

    1. They showed it last night! That is cool that you are watching it in Perth. I enjoy seeing local scenes in the series.

  3. Ah, Joan, I got all excited and was going to google it and rush down with my sweetie. Looks like a nice place and I am sure those 'wives' enjoy their time there! I have only seen a few episodes of the show because I spend too much time at the computer!!

    1. That would have been fun! It really is a facade. I looked in the window and there is just a foot or two between the front and the back. Too bad. Someone could make a popular bar out of it.

  4. Ha, I drove by it the other day and thought to myself, what a cute little place! What an idiot I would have looked had I tried to talk someone into going with me!

  5. Someone needs to turn that into a real bar once the series is over!

    1. They do. When you look in the window it only looks a foot or two deep. It would have to be built in from the back. Do it!

I saw The Hump as we drove by on a recent trip to Charleston. I didn't realize it was only a few feet in depth! Still it was interesting to see.
