Yep. Exactly like this.
I've been kayaking at the lake again and I send so much water splashing from my paddles that I'm not brave enough yet to risk my camera. I picked up a cheapo set of acrylics and budget brushes and painted this this morning so you could get an idea. Other than the fact that I was on the lake rather than the ocean, the ships were pontoon boats and there were no mermaids it was exactly like this. I copied the image from a little picture in a magazine but yep, it was just the same.
Oooooh! I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteJust the same... but different! You are talented!
ReplyDeletego girl!
ReplyDeleteHey Charlotte - this art business is harder than it's cracked up to be :) I haven't touched a brush in years.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies - it was fun. Don't think I'll be selling paintings any time soon.
ReplyDeleteSure that's not a self portrait? :)
ReplyDeleteJust FYI, I bought a small waterproof clear pouch at REI for my Canon point and shoot camera. You can wear it with the lanyard around your neck and the camera tucked inside your PFD. I used it yesterday to shoot a few pics of our kayak outing.

lowandslow - my pocket camera is a high end one so I am still pretty protective. I missed a great shot of a flock of white ibis in the cypress trees. It was glorious!
ReplyDeleteThe mermaid painting illustrates just one of your many talents. I love her long tresses and the inclusion of 2 different boats.
ReplyDeleteI once won an art contest but I think I was 14 :). Been a while!
ReplyDeletei'll take pictures of you kayaking :)
ReplyDeleteEugene - I got a picture of my toes in last weekend. :)
